Multi-split air conditioning: what is it?

Multi-split air conditioning refers to a system composed of multiple indoor units, designed to cool or heat several rooms simultaneously. When this system can distribute both hot and cold air, it is called reversible, allowing you to use it throughout the year, both in summer and winter. This is a significant advantage for the comfort of your interior, whether in a home or a business.

The multi-split air conditioner consists of an outdoor unit and several indoor units. Thus, there are bi-split systems for two indoor units, tri-split for 3, quadri-split for 4, etc. At Icestream, you can connect up to 5 indoor units to a single outdoor unit, allowing you to cool or heat up to 5 rooms. Our wide range of powers extends from 5 to 12 kW.

• Performance: you have access to highly efficient products that offer excellent thermal comfort. Thanks to DC Inverter technology, they consume very little electricity. They have a SCOP between 3.7 and 4, meaning your multi-split system will produce 4 times more cooling/heating for every 1 kW of electricity consumed.
• Environmentally friendly: our air conditioning products are eco-friendly as they operate with R32 refrigerant gas. This gas is known for its eco-friendly properties, emitting less CO2.
• Programmable: you can program the start and stop of your air conditioning solution to achieve the desired temperature at your preferred times. This allows you to save energy and use it only when you are in the room.
• Our Icestream multi-split heating and air conditioning system can optionally be equipped with a Wi-Fi kit, allowing you to control the temperature remotely, and for some models, a centralized remote control.

The Different Types of Multi-Split Air Conditioning Units

There are various models of indoor units for multi-split air conditioning, each with its own characteristics. It is possible to combine different types of units in a multi-split system.

• Ceiling cassette air conditioning: mounted or recessed in the ceiling. Ideal for offices, shops, and stores.
• Ducted air conditioning: recessed in a wall, false ceiling, or attic.
• Dual-flow console: wall-mounted.
• Ceiling console: wall or ceiling-mounted.
